Mirena removal

Mirena removal

Hi all

5 months ago I had a uterine ablation and Mirena inserted. Due to COVID shutdowns In SA I finally had my follow up with the gynaecologist last week and she had removed the Mirena as I was having terrible menopause like symptoms (lack of sleep, insomnia, anxiety, depressive thoughts, night sweats, weight gain etc) I’m 36 so this is not something I was expecting. She explained it could be pre menopause or the Mirena causing these issues. My question is has anyone had the Mirena removed and felt as if they are even more anxious or having crazy thoughts than before hand? My next follow up isn’t for 4 weeks but thinking I may go back earlier if things don’t calm down.

It’s taken a couple of months for the mirerna side affects to go away after removal. My dr did say this. I hated the mirena.
