Winter Holiday to Tasmania

Winter Holiday to Tasmania

Iā€™d like to surprise my Hubby and two kids with a holiday to Tasmania, specially in winter to see the snow. Kids will be 8 and 10. Any recommendations on resorts/hotels and activities to look into would be great. Thanks!

I assume Hobart?
If so:
Mona (museum of modern art) is a hugely popular touristy thing to do, I'm a local and I've never actually been šŸ™Š
Also Dark Mofo if/when it goes ahead again
Port Arthur historical site is fascinating.
Richmond is also a great place to spend the day (a lot of history there too).
A trip up Mount Wellington/Kunyani is also a must if you want to see snow.
ZooDoo and Bonarong park.
The botanical gardens.
A double decker bus tour around hobart.

There's so many more things to do and places to explore too but I can't think of them now lol

Cradle mountain, wineglass bay, the nut in Stanley just to name a few. Google will tell you everything

Just be aware you can't always get up Mount Wellington in the middle of winter, the roads up are often closed due to the conditions.
Mount field is a fantastic plan B. There's also a lot of bushland reserves that are good places to see snow too (give it a Google šŸ™‚).

I'd definitely recommend hiring a rental car, public transport in the city/suburbs is great but there's a lot of places you can't really get to without a car.
