Sick Leave

Hi All,

I'm about 8-9 weeks into my new job and unfortunately I have been hit with a cold/flu type thing.
Not COVD, I got tested. I have taken 3 days off, sick leave/leave without pay.
This cold/flu has left me completely without any energy and I've spent a better part of the 3 days sleeping.
I've had to ring in each morning to let them know I'm not coming in and the reaction on the other end, while not hostile has not been kind.

I've been riddled with guilt about these sick days, probably caused by the reaction I got. Does anyone else ever feel this?
I'm an older Mum of 3 kids, so I'm not a young girl, who needs approval, if that makes sense.

I can't wait for Monday to come quick enough so I can go in and see how they'll treat me, or if there'll be some adverse reaction. I hate this!!

It's made my anxiety sky rocket!

Had this in many jobs, many, many jobs and friends also.
Same in my current one.
It sux, it makes you anxious etc.
I just don’t worry about it anymore.
If I need time off, I take it.
Don’t be surprised if they’re a little frosty for a bit, but then they come good again.
Very, very, common in today’s modern world.
Don’t let it get to you x

Unfortunately it’s really common for employers to make people feeel guilty, and sick people are often not replaced leaving other workers with a heavier workload. I’m luck my workplace now is great, if you’re sick you’re sick and they’d rather you not come in, especially with the current climate.
