The big 40! How to celebrate

Hi

I’ll be turning 40 early next year, and have been dreading it. I also most likely won’t be having a party due to lack of contact with some family and next to no friends. My question is what did you do for your 40th? I have kids under the age of 13, and am a single mum with limited support.

I was just not going to do anything and stay home like any other birthday, but I already feel horrible about turning 40 and with what’s happened in 2020 I’m unemployed and just feel crappy about everything right now!

Any options of what to do etc would be great that I could go somewhere on my own or With kids too if options of a babysitter are not available. Thanks

How about going away somewhere new? Doesn't have to be far or exotic, just with different places you've never been.

Or try doing a new activity that pushes you out of your normal routine - hot air ballooning, rally car driving, horse riding on the beach, bike riding wine tour etc. Check out Red Balloon or Adrenalin websites for ideas and prices. Some aren't too expensive (some are!)

Both travelling to new destinations (near or far) and doing activities I normally wouldn't are my favorite memories.

Weekend away with the kids.

How about dinner?
Somewhere nice you'd never normally go to, that you dress up a little bit for.

Definitely a holiday or weekend away with the kids and invite a friend too. Something you will remember and all have quality time together
