Hi ladies,
I have a close friend in Victoria with a two year old. My friend is working almost full-time however with the new Victorian COVID measures they won’t have day care whilst they work. They therefore need to work from home and look after the child.
Do you have any ideas of what I can do to help them out? I live in a different state. TIA

Honestly, you are amazing for even thinking of her.
We are all in the same situation, if anything maybe a nice little entertainment gift pack for her 2yo. Some colouring stuff, some slime, treasure hunt stuff :)
Wow what a great friend you are. What DVDs does your friends child like? You can do up a little gift pack with colour books, pencils, DVD
Victoria University has set up a program with their preservice teachers. Tell her to contact the education department at Victoria University and ask about being part of the program.
She may be able to apply for a permit for the 2 year old to still go to daycare while she works. Otherwise any informal arrangements such as family or friends who help out are still applicable during stage 4 restrictions. I know that second part as I also work so my kids are either with their father (we aren't together), or my mum or brother whilst I'm at work. (My kids are 3 and 5)
Things you can do is send a care package - either some treats or activities they can do during the day :)
