Moving

Has anyone just up and moved 2.5 hours away? My parents moved a little while ago and my daughter misses them. We don’t spend a lot of time with my family that’s left here.
We would be close to the beach. My daughter does have disabilities and we would need to find new professionals to link in with. Which I think would be hard.
My daughter is so calm near the beach.
I would have to give up my job and look for one once we are there. I have found a house to rent that is in my price range and in the location I want.
Has anyone done it? How did you do it? Was it hard to find a new job?

For me a lot would depend how much savings I had. Have you done some research to see what jobs are available? Especially in the current climate. Could you live off of Centrelink if you had to? Would you be approved a rental if you don’t have a job? When I was pregnant with my first we moved interstate to be closer to my family. The family support was wonderful and we had a fair chunk of savings but a lot of that got spent and it was super stressful until my husband found a job

I did it. I found a rental first then started applying for jobs without actually moving. The plan was to get the house, get a job, then move. I couldn't apply for jobs first as a lot of places don't want to wait for you to get your shit together, they want you when they want you. Well I didn't get a job and I couldn't afford to pay 2 lots of rent anymore plus kids needed to start at their new school so I moved without a job. I struggled to keep up with rent on Centrelink alone. So my advice is find an 'inbetween' accommodation there (your Mum and Dad's?) Find work then find a rental that you can afford based on your income. Good luck!
