Tubal ligation

Tubal ligation

Tubal Ligation.
I'm in my mid 30s, have 2 kids and don't want anymore and thinking of getting a tubal ligation.
I hate the side effects of birth control. The weight gain and bloating is terrible. I gained 15kgs in 3 months from Deprovera and about 5kgs from the Pill.
Its hard enough trying to lose weight as you age without hormonal birth control hindering it.
I don't want anything with hormones because of this and read tubal ligation does not affect hormones therefore no weight gain.
Is this true? I would like to hear about your experiences and side effects before going any further. Thank you.

I had mine done 15 years ago. No side effects, no weight gain. But then again i didn't gain weight with any other contraceptives either. I'm in menopause now and still never gained weight. I think weight gain is totally individual and isn't always hormonal. A lot of other factors are at play when people gain too much weight, for any reason.

Please think really hard before u go down that path. I understand what your saying about side effects and birth control. But believe me it changes your whole thought pattern. I had tubes done then a partial hysterectomy when my youngest now 13, was only a one and I’ve regretted it ever since. I needed to know I couldn’t have anymore after a horrific pregnancy and birth but a few years later at only 28 all I wanted was another child and there is no way possible for that to happen.
