Gross cracked heels

Gross cracked heels

I have horrifically cracked heels, they're revolting and embarrassing, I suffer from chronic dry skin due to health issues and the subsequent medications, but my heels are just driving me crazy!!!

Has anyone got any tried and tested remedies that actually work? I use a ped egg to get the dead skin off and moisturize

YES! I was just like you, cracked heals, embarrassed wearing sandals and thongs. I found a product in a health food shop and I’m not even joking cracks are gone!!!! It’s called Soothing Foot Bar made by Olie from Mornington peninsula in vic - you could probably order on line. It’s a soap bar made using oils - you rub in on your heel morning and night - put socks on and after 2 weeks I noticed a huge difference. Another week later, scrapped dead skin off and I no longer have cracks. I’m so happy as I didn’t know how I was going to resolve it. I’ve noticed my heels are getting a bit dry again so I just rubbed some more on and can easily manage it now. Good luck!

Years ago, I was told all the pedicure stuff is unnecessary. Get a high strength heel & foot cream and use daily. It took a couple of weeks but my heels were smooth & the hard skin softened by at least half. All cracks gone. I use Eulactol Gold. I buy it when it's half price at Coles, for $14. When I remember to do it it works beautifully. You do need to keep it up, though. You don't need much cream.

If you put it on at night & wear cotton socks it helps your skin absorb it.

I never file, scrub or loofah my feet. It just injures them more.

Heel balm, it’s a cream designed specifically for cracked heels. Put on every night before bed. Also enclosed shoes help. My feet are always worse when I wear open shoes like thongs.
Get yourself a super comfy enclosed pair of wool ugh boots for around the house.

I swear by bepathen cream.

Every night I soak my feet in nice warm water, then scrub with my Ped egg, then I smother my heels in bepathen and wack on a thick pair of socks.

I find that consistency is key, if I skip this process for a couple of nights I'm back to square one. Good quality enclosed shoes or sneakers help too, thongs and sandals gotta go unfortunately!

Go to a podiatrist for a good clean - it made a world of difference to me! I never used to go - i was too embarassed and one day, my husband cracked it. Sick and tired of constantly telling me to go to a podiatrist because i was always complaining, he actually made an appointment for me. So i went and it changed everything. She cleaned everything properly - what you get at beauty places is NOT a proper clean. it was amazing. My heels felt amazing. So now i go every couple of months!!

I am incredibly ticklish. Girls at the beauty place laugh but they can only touch them in a particular way or I pretty much kick 🙈 you know what, the podiatrist was amazing. It didn't hurt or tickle at all. My mind was blown. She was so chilled and made me relax!!

A 10 min foot soak, then with a pumice stone or heel grater while still slightly damp, shave or rub affected heel areas , and finish with Eulactol Heel Balm . Place socks over your feet and leave on overnight . Do this twice a week ongoing . Also don't walk around barefoot. Even the deepest cracks with smooth out, guaranteed.

I've been doing this for 15 years twice a week and have heels as smooth as a babys bum and I'm 50 years old .

I swear by my Heros sponge. It's a softer pumice, lather up with some goats milk soap and give them a scrub. Don't go too hard at first, just give them a rub and use a foot balm with socks overnight (I use a hemp balm). Keep it up and they'll improve. My feet are so soft that prickles cripple me haha.
