I'm hoping to get some feedback on period undies for teens...
I have a 12 year old who has just got her first period. I've researched period undies and am getting mixed results. So I'm hoping you lovelies can help me out...
Can she wear the period undies solo or are they used as a backup to wearing a pad?
Do they last the full school day?
Do they smell?
Are the Woolies brands as good as say Modibody?

I wear period undies all the time. On the first two days of my cycle I wear the undies with no extra protection. And yes I wear them the full day (change in morning and at night). On my two heavy days I like to use a pad if I’m out as it’s easier to change a pad than undies (although I have gone just undies and been fine I just feel more secure). I’ve also worn the pad t he first part of the day and just remove pad and gone undies for the 2nd half.
Then after my two heavy days I go back to just the undies.
I use modibodi I’ve never tried any others.
I’ve been wearing ModiBodi undies since December and love them. I don’t use pads or liners at all now, but that’s just personal preference. I wear the heavy/overnight ones to bed, moderate/heavy on my heavier days, and the light/moderate the rest of the time. I also wear the light/moderate ones in between periods rather than liners because I don’t light feeling the dampness from discharge. I generally only notice a smell when I go to the toilet. If smell is a concern then perhaps wear the undies with a pad for the morning then remove the pad at lunchtime. I haven’t tried any other brands, so it would be a bit of trial and error to find what works best for your daughter. I started with one Light/moderate and one heavy/overnight to see what they were like, before getting multiple pairs in each absorbency level.
My 13year old wears them she changes them morning and night. She can go all day and not have to warry about changing at school at all she loves them. I got them of wish just for her to try I am definitely getting her more 😁
