Pregnant and craving bad food

Pregnant and craving bad foods, I don't want vegetables or fruit. I can't even remember the last time I ate fruit. I am also exhausted from working full time. I feel guilty about eating bad, and when I Google bad diet in pregnancy it keeps coming up with links to damaging child's mental health. Wanting to know if any other mums have a bad diet while pregnant and if everything turned out okay?

Stop googling! It is the worst possible thing for ur own mental health! We have all eaten and craved bad food whilst pregnant and I’m sure it hasn’t impacted the baby!!

While I was pregnant with my now 13 year old son, all I ate for lunch for nearly 7 months was Red Roosters quarter chicken and chips with gravy. If what I ate was to affect him, he would have come out clucking like a chicken! Stop googling! Try to eat healthier when you can, but eating anything is better than nothing. If you aren’t eating fruit, try drinking juice instead. While it’s not ideal, you’ll still be getting some vitamins.

I had HG with my first pregnancy and pretty full on morning sickness with my next two. During my pregnancies, the smell of cooking vegetables made me gag and most fruits gave me chronic reflux from the acidity.

The things I mainly lived on were plain salted potato chips, full cream milk and choc ripple bickies, KFC wicked wings and salty hot chips!

I have 3 very healthy, well rounded kids.

Now, I'm certainly not advocating for purposely shit diets during pregnancy (or in general for that matter) but the most important thing is that your body is getting some sustenance. Junk is better than nothing in the scheme of things because you expell so much energy during pregnancy.

Get yourself a good pregnancy multi vitamin (consult your care team first), make a concerted effort to try and eat some more nutritious foods if/where you can but don't feel bad if you have a bad week or if you smash a whole pizza or a massive slice of mud cake on occasions.

Try and get some iron rich foods in as well, that may help with the exhaustion.
