Time out is a good thing

One really good aspect of everyone being in lockdown is that my 13 year old son who was hanging around with juvenile delinquents cannot now do so. He can’t simply get on a bus and go “hang with his mates”, as he’ll get arrested.
I’ve taken this opportunity of the whole world being grounded to get him to the doctor for a chat, and he’s been prescribed medication for depression.
I’m really hoping that since no one will be attending school in term 2 in my state, and everyone will be doing distance education, that he will delete these boys from his phone and his life, and get his life and his education back on track.
Hopefully this time out is an opportunity for him and others who have made poor choices to re-evaluate their behaviour, company and choices and to redeem themselves and start again.
It sure is nice having him home, using good manners and helping me bake. Makes a big change from swearing, nicking off from school and smoking bongs with jerks.

It sounds like deep down he wanted a way out of that behaviour and shitty friendship.

Wish you all the best and well done for seizing the opportunity.
