Car ride in self-isolation

Car ride in self-isolation

My kids are going stir crazy at home. We do our 1 hr exercise but its not enough we've always been an outdoorsy family.
We play ball and run n the backyard too.
So lately when they are going feral I chuck them in the car for a 20 minute drive. They like looking out the window, we put some favorite music and it seems to be helping while we all cope with self isolation. Its just a short car ride... but will I get in trouble for doing this? Will I get fined? Im in rural NSW (not Sydney).
What about our mental health? We are finding self isolation very difficult and this seems to really help them.
All windows shut in car and we don't get out of the car.
Edit: self isolation following rules not ordered to self isolate just following what the pm says.

I am on the Sunny Coast and I have been taking my son for a driving lesson everyday. We don’t get out of the car but we are enjoying driving around our beautiful area without the tourists. I class it as exercise for mental health and we will continue to do it. We aren’t putting anyone at risk and no one is putting us at risk either.

Are you in proper isolation because you’ve been ordered to?

Or self isolation following the rules?

I understand completely and we have been doing the same thing. Go for a drive to break up the time at home.
Without this my mental health would be suffering.
Im in Sydney. I don’t see the quick few steps to my car which is in my driveway so zero interaction with anyone else and the drive around then back to house as being a risk. As long as no one is getting out of car and just driving around for a change of scenery

But staying at home without a break would have risks of people not coping

See, I was debating this with someone the other day. I figured this would be totally fine too.
This other person I was talking with pointed out that if for some reason you were to break down or if (god forbid) you got into a car crash - you would need either roadside assist or essential workers such as paramedics or police to come to your aid.
I mean, that event would be unlikely but not impossible and it would certainly up the potential exposure/infection risk.
So I think that's definitely something to consider.

It means you'll need petrol and they don't want us going there repeatedly, and maybe breakdown or repairs or crash and then contact with others and police contact with yourself and others and witnesses.
The same as fishing or boating and exercise is cancelled, the order is to stay home.

I've got a 3 and 5 year old and we've often driven around when the kids are feral. I am obviously trying not to use this method as often atm with isolation. But I have and will continue to when we really need to for out mental health. If I was ever questioned, I would clearly show them a 3 year old fast asleep in her car seat and let them know it's our only form of sanity in these times...

I feel people sprouting stay home no windows up drives are being OTT. I had a kid cough up in my mouth today. I feel now qe cant go for our planned drive to the rainforest but I can have children cover me in their spit daily. Its crazy how so many people have a massive attack on anyone wanting to go for a drive. So many what ifs over a drive but those us going to work jave many what ifs as well.
