Celebrating birthday

My step dad's birthday is coming up and he passed away last year but him and my 3yo were super close. Is it wrong to still celebrate his birthday and have a cake and everything else?

Celebrate his birthday. It’s a great time to talk about the good memories and reminisce.

Not at all. Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful tradition ❤️

I think it's nice to have cake and remember him but what do you mean about everything else? I would just keep it low key x

We lost our baby girl so every year we get the close family together and go to dinner and have a cake. We also choose a little ornament for the cemetry almost like a birthday present. would definitely do it to with the 3 year old. It might be nice to get them to help decorate a cake light a candle, let the 3 year old blow it out and you share some things special that you could remind him about your step dad. Sadly as a 3 year old the memories will fade but I really think you sharing those stories with you 3 year old will keep their memory alive and make them feel connected for years to come.
