Lacking motivation

Lacking motivation

I'm after advice on how to improve my life. I know a lot of people will tell me to just do it but I honestly can't find the motivation. I'm 25 and a single mum and weight 120kg, I so desperately want to lose weight but just can't find the motivation to eat well and exercise. Everyday I start with okay this will be the day and then something happens and I just say to myself I'll start tomorrow. I'm just so over it I want to be healthy and I want to be happy not just for myself but for my daughter as well. I feel at the moment I'm just existing, I struggle to play with my daughter as I just feel so shit about myself so I know my poor choices are effecting her as well. I'm just honestly sick of my life, I'm sick of being fat, I'm sick of feeling like a bad mum, sick of being single and alone, just sick of everything and I'm only young so I don't feel like I should feel like this! If anyone has words of wisdom or ways to help that would be great.

For me I always start with 1 thing. 1 thing that you would like to change - it could be having breakfast, going for a 30 minute walk, only having water for the day, doing an activity with your daughter.. whatever it might be start with that 1 thing and do it every day for the next week. If you've stuck to it then continue with it and introduce the next change that you'd like to make. I just find it easier to stick to if I break it down into smaller goals rather than trying to make some massive overhaul.. if you have a friend or family member you could do it with its always more motivating too - and involve your daughter!

As someone who in the same situation, and has been for the last 2 years I totally get you! I’m 29 but I sit here and think, god I’m so young I shouldn’t be like this.
I’m going to give it a massive go starting Monday, and I’ve done heaps to prepare myself for it. Prepping food and freezing is a good start, that way you have all your meals there and just have to heat them up.
If you are interested I’d be more than happy to help you? Keep eachother accountable!

What worked for me was changing one thing, until that one thing became a habit. Then change another thing.

I’ve recently lost 20 kg it’s not easy but don’t start tomorrow or Monday start now even if you’ve already had something bad you won’t feel the best for the first few days and then you will start to feel great. You’ve got this download my fitness pal it’s free enter everything you eat in that, that will count your calories you will have bad days but the most important thing is the next day you make better choices again. I’m happy to help you if I can you just let me know there’s no
Need for or these shakes and other diets around it’s just about making better choices food wise and exercise. Good luck 😉

Highly recommend going and talking to your doctor. The low energy might come from low iron/B12, etc.

The GP will also be able to refer you to a dietician who can work with you to improve your diet, etc.

My GP put me on a healthcare plan, and I also got 2 free sessions to work with a therapist to improve thought patterns, and exercise etc. My biggest problem is snacking at night once the kids (5, twin 3 yr olds) are asleep and having no time to exercise.

I'm down from 121kg to 84/83kg over a year.

I've stuck to a meal plan of:
-shake for breakfast
- MT: yoghurt and fruit
- lunch: meat and salad alone or wrap
-AF: Fruit and nuts
-Dinner: working my way thru healthy mummy free recipes.

I try and exercise everyday. The kids ride around the park while I walk, we go to the pool, etc.

It is hard AF, but once I lost that first 5kg I knew it was working. The GP suggested shakes to kick start my motivation and it really did help :)
