Sensory Processing Disorder

My 5yo daughter is in the process of being diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder. Her main challenges are tactile and she seems to have gotten dramatically worse in the last few weeks. She still wears a nappy at night. She is refusing to wear undies every morning and it is a nightmare. We have confirmed it is not behavioural and her distress is genuine because the undies are not comfy.

Has anyone got any experience/suggestions? We have tried EVERY undie brand around and in a range of sizes. She won't wear bike pants as an alternative and wants to wear a nappy but I don't want her to get used to that.

We are seeing an OT and clinical psych in the new year.

Try undies and the nappy on top?
Then she gets used to it and you work towards removing the nappy.
Have you tried boxer shorts?
Nice satin ones that feel nice?

I wonder if it’s to do with the heat? As a SN mum I would maybe try 10 minutes in 10 minutes off whilst at home. Nappies or pull up whilst out for now.

One of mine had this with undies and socks.
Would only wear skirts and couldn’t stand undies touching her. No nappies in house and a size or two bigger undies so they didntt touch as much. She still complained but eventually grew out of it but is still picky with how clothes socks and shoes feel, nothing tight.
