Bad periods

Hi ladies. I have crippling period pain. I have of course been to the doctor, had scans etc. I have a very thick lining. My problem and TMI sorry - lots of clots, cramping and pain from under the breasts down to the thighs
This pain leaves me in bed for three days minimum. Now I am wondering what I can do/take to help with these symptoms? I want to go back to work bit am worried about this pain every month.

Ask for a referral to a gyno if you haven’t had one. There can be treatments but you need to ask a specialist.

My 19yo daughter struggled like you with horrendous periods. She would even throw up, and shake often as the pain was so bad. Dr put her on the pill, and she has never felt better. The pill regulates and reduces heavy clotty periods and lessens pain.

If you are looking for a contraception as well- I had similar issues and went on Depo Provera (injection 3 monthly) no periods at all. Ask your doctor and maybe that could work for you.

I would be asking for a referral to a gynecologist. It may be endometriosis

I to had a change in cycle to extremes. I had a polyp removed and due to age and finished having kids the OB suggested a procedure called novasure. Its like an abalation it removes the lining of the uterus so you experience less to no bleeding. Ask your gp for a referral to an OB and discuss it further.
