Is this normal behaviour!
Hello ladies, my son is 3 and it happens more when he is relaxed like watching tv or watching his iPad and sometimes while he is in bed, he started ‘humping’ his bed when he was a baby, we didn’t think much from it and assumed it was a comfort? Now his older and doing it a lot more and he does end up with an erection. We do our best to try stop him from doing it, but his still so little to not really understand. Has anyone else had anything similar? What else could I do or is there someone we can speak to?
Thank you 🙂

It’s very normal, but annoying. It just feels good and is comforting.
Consistently redirect the behaviour, ‘we only do that in our bedroom’, it takes AGES for them to get it, as they don’t see it as sexual. It just feels nice.

Yep my son started doing similar just before he turned 3 - he has just turned 4 and doesn't do it anymore but any time we did notice him doing it we just asked him to stop or to go to his room to do it in a very bored voice. We didn't react by laughing or getting angry as we didn't want him to do it just for the reaction like some other things.

Check to see he doesn't have ballanitis ( infection under foreskin). It can be very itchy/ painful and they sometimes do it to get relief. If not it's prob a hormone thing as they get an influx of testosterone every 3 years or so too.
