Low lining placenta

Low lining placenta

Hi sisters

For mummas out there who have experienced a low lining placenta that got picked up on ultrasound in the second trimester
What was the outcome and did u go on to give birth natural or had to have a c section
I'm freaking out I have been instructed to rest as much as I can lie on my left side and bend my knees and put a pillow between my knees no sex all simple things right

All of my babies were born natural one at home and two drug free unassisted births and I have never had a c section and just the thought is freaking me out as I cant even think about it without having a panic attack

It can sort itself out, but if it doesn’t you’ll be prepped for an elective c-section they’ll discuss with you what happens, what they’re doing and you’ll be able to have hubby in the room and they’ll bring bubs between 38 and 39 weeks to prevent you going into labour. What’s more scary?
Bleeding out and dying and not getting to meet your baby because your placenta abrupts or having your baby brought medically into the world where your recovery might be a little long and little more painful and life might be harder for a few weeks?
Personally I’ve had 3 c-sections 1 elective 2 emergency ones I was up and walking within 24hours and out within 3 days for my last one. Which was the elective one. Yes the aftermath is painful, yes youre uncomfortable and yes you take a few pain meds to get through the first few weeks. But on the upside no epistitomy, no torn vagina and less bleeding.

Wishing you all the best, please don’t freak out it’s really not as scary as you think xx

I had this with my first. Unfortunately it didn’t move and I had to book in for a c-section.

Depends on what grade your placenta prævia is. They range from mild, grade 1, to the most severe, grade 4, where the cervix is completely occluded by the placenta.
Grades one and two may move up as the uterus grows and you might be able to have a natural birth, but 3 and 4 always require a c section.
I had a grade 4 prævia with my second child. I started bleeding at 25 weeks and was airlifted to hospital in the city...I’m from the bush.
I spent until week 32 on bed rest in Monash and had a c section at 32 weeks due to another bleed.
My son is 16 now and healthy, and I went on to have two extra sons naturally and without any complications at all.
