Teeth grinding

Teeth grinding

My 8 yr old grinds her teeth at night. At her last dental check up, the dentist told me thete wasn't really anything I could do. Now her jaw pops when she eats so her grinding is affecting her jaw. I have thought of a night guard but don't know where to find the right one or do I take ger back to dentist? Thank you

I've ground my teeth since I was a child. I had a night guard made at the dentist in my early teens so it was the correct fit. Being 8 she'll obviously need new ones rather regularly while she's growing. It took a few weeks to get used to - you can actually see on my guard grooves where I've ground the plastic away. Surprisingly since I've had my wisdom teeth out my husband says I don't grind them much anymore

Take her to a good orthodontist! If in Brisbane i'd suggest Shine Orthodontics
