Daughter getting nose bleeds

Daughter getting nose bleeds

My 3 year old daughter is getting frequent nose bleeds. I would say at least 2 a week lately. Not too much blood but enough to go over the front of her shirt, normally stops pretty quickly. A lot of people are telling me that that’s quite normal and nothing to worry about!? Is that true? She is otherwise completely healthy. Should I take her to the doctor?? Anyone else’s kids had this and had an underlying problem or anything???

You should definitely be taking her to a doctor. Frequent nose bleeds are not a normal occurrence.

Get her checked... could be just a dry nose, try noseoil from chemist.

My son used to get frequent nose bleeds, so did I when I was younger when it was really hot. Has something to do with the blood vessels at the back of the nose or something. Do take her to get checked out, she is really young so it won't hurt to get professional advice on how much is too much, and if she needs a scan.

Recommend getting her checked by a GP or ENT. Young kids getting nosebleeds is common. My son (2) was getting frequent nose bleeds lasting several days. Got this checked by ENT and was essentially a dry nose. They recommended noseoil and he seemed to get better. It may be worse at certain times of the year.
If this didn’t help then the next step would have been to cauterise the blood vessel in the nose but luckily things have improved.
Like I said before, best to get checked out but don’t stress yourself too much about it in the meantime.

Some people do just have really delicate nasal passages/blood vessels, so chances are it is nothing serious.
However, i think it's probably wise to head off to her GP and see what they think, it's always better to err on the side of caution for peace of mind if you're unsure.

I've been prone to nosebleeds my whole life, I find heat and allergies (hay fever) contribute to mine. It's my normal, as far as my doctor and I are concerned. But if you're concerned it is never a bad thing to check it out.
