I had a small success as an “angry” mum and wanted to share.

There’s a lot of stress and uncertainty that comes with being a parent so I just wanted to share a small success. My 3 year old and I are very short tempered so when he throws a tantrum it angers me so I separate us so we can calm down on our own. It’s a very long process and usually makes the whole day stressful.

Today my son was throwing a tantrum because he wanted to eat my lunch instead of his (it was the same food but mine had stuff he’s allergic to) and instead of getting angry like usual, as soon as I started feeling angry I just grabbed him and hugged him while he cried and calmed him down and now he’s eating his food.

It’s only a small success and I’m sure it comes naturally to a lot of mums but it was a big thing for us and I’m sure there are a few “angry” mums who are trying to improve and could use the encouragement.
