BKSB test and failed

BKSB test and failed

Feeling like a total loser right now,
Took the BKSB test this week and only got a score of level 2, mainly working in level 3,
I’m a mature age student that didn’t finish year 10 and I’m in my late 30’s,
Feeling deflated and stupid and just want to cry but hubby is all positive,(bless him) and saying I should be proud of myself,🤷🏻‍♀️😢
I can re-sit in 3 months but have to obviously back out of all my course preferences,
Feeling like an absolute idiot,
But the government has set the exit level to 3 to get a student loan,
I can’t afford to pay for it up front or on payment plan as we have kids and a house to run,(we rent)
Really don’t know where to turn now,
tafe aren’t really that helpful,
Any advice welcome 😊
I’d love to better myself and my families situation,
Feeling frustrated!!

Practice, practice PRACTICE everyday :) hire a tutor if need be, do a heap of online practice tests in both mathematics and language skills.

This doesn’t mean you’re stupid or not worthy, it’s to prepare you for what level of work is to come when you do pass and go to TAFE. All you need to do is pass and you’ll get extra support at TAFE if you’re struggling with the core work.

You can do this!!!!

Thanks so much,😊
I have started doing some practice tests,
I have 3 months before I can take the test again,
So have plenty of time to study!

Practice! Our brains are designed to learn and adapt. Study. Study. Study. You got this sweetheart! Don’t put a time limit on it. This is your journey. Be patient and kind with yourself. Your brain hasn’t had to sit and take in this information in this way since you left school, it will take little while to adjust. This time you have maturity on your side. Climb the mountain in stages! All the very best!

Thank you for your lovely comment,😊
I lost all confidence in myself and was feeling so down after I failed it,
Today is a new day and I’m getting stuck into some study and practice tests.

Never feel down for failing. The fact your striving and trying is the success. After you have achieved a degree or diploma it is never recorded how many attempts it took. The true measure of a person is how many times you stand back up after the fall! You got this! Also remember that people who went to uni straight from school often end up retraining later in life and have to dust off the same cobwebs. Also your current failure is not a representation of your intelligence just your current knowledge on those tested topics.
