Everyone overlooks depression signs in these posts

I am just leaving this link here (I hope it's allowed)! I have read a few posts on here from a frustrated Mum, step Mum or wife in regards to their loved ones behaviour. I'm just asking that everyone please become familiar with depression signs, depressed people will often come across as "lazy and selfish". We need to learn to take the posters perspective out of these posts when they are describing someone elses behaviour, they are understandably upset and frustrated, so we can look for the signs of depression when they describe their loved one. The advice you give could save a life.

Beyond Blue is a fantastic organization and this link is a great resource.
However, asking people to take the Original Poster's perspective away and suggesting mental illness when we often don't have enough information (or the qualifications to do that) is a bit of a slippery slope.

I am just meaning when they are describing someone elses behaviour. Like the post on fb today about the lazy teenager, I see depression but everyone else sees a spoilt rotten young adult. It does pay to take the perspective out and just see the 'facts' that are presented.
