Save our sleep

Please mama’s my ds was a great sleeper from 6wks until 2 weeks ago he’s 4 1/2mths now.
He’s gone from sleeping through from 10:30pm till 7am to not going down till at least 11:30 more often 12/1am waking after 45min-1hr and having to be rocked back in his bassinet only to be awake between 4/5 hungry.
Any suggestions welcome i’m hoping it’s a stage but i’m exhausted 😩

I’m sorry if this is blunt, but he’s only 4.5 months. He’s not ready to be sleeping through and it’s conpletely normal to be wakin that much. Give it time, offer a Dream feed if need be, meet his cluster needs. If you need reassurance, meet with your midwife or MHN :)

Their sleep patterns will change, so a baby that could sleep through can change it could be hot cold wet nappy noise hungry a leap, BUT 45 minute waking is an issue. It means they can't self settle anymore into the next sleep cycle. Try white noise, like a fan to help him sleep through. Or wake up and rock him or pat him before he wakes up. Or just sleep beside him.

I thought you were going to ask about opinions on the “save our sleep book” lol in which case is rubbish.

You are a lucky mama to have such a great sleeper in the beginning. And it’s friggin’ tough when they give you a taste of great sleeping and then, BAM!! start waking up a lot. It really throws you. But I’d try and ride it out. Keep doing all the same things you’ve always done (because it clearly worked in the beginning) and know that their routines and things are always going to change as they grow, but stay consistent, patient and loving and it will eventually pass.

It’s probably just a growth spurt/leap, in which case, feed Bub up a little more during the day.
