Pregnancy after a miscarriage

Pregnancy after a miscarriage

How do we not be scared about loosing this pregnancy? We've just found out I'm pregnant and its only early days yet, 6 weeks or so, and after having a missed miscarriage (11 weeks when we actually lost it), then an incomplete miscarriage resulting in a D&C we are just terrified of loosing this one too. We know statistically that your chances of loosing 2 back to back are quite a bit lower than having one miscarriage but we still worry. For those who have lost a pregnancy then went on to have another, how did you cope? Anything you told yourself to make you worry less? Did you just deal with it? Any advice?

Went on to have a successful pregnancy under same circumstances. I just treasured every moment. Our GP was mindful of our worry and scheduled ultrasounds at 8,10 and 12 weeks with a sonographer who was aware of our circumstances (and I didn’t go back to the place who diagnosed my miscarriage- not their fault but just too upsetting).
I needed to do something to acknowledge my baby who had passed to give me some closure. For us it was visiting church and lighting a candle in her name. For some people it’s planting a tree or getting a tattoo. Whatever it is I think it’s important to give you a moment to realise that pregnancy is not this new one. I hope that makes sense xo
