Motivation to cure my laziness

Motivation to cure my laziness

I’m a SAHM of a toddler and am pregnant with No 2 - lately I just haven’t had the willpower or motivation to do anything. I know I have to clean my increasingly messy house and I know I should be playing more with my lo but It’s just like I can’t get my body to do anything and then I feel even worse. I’m sure I’m just being lazy but I’ve never felt this way before and am chasing some tips on how ppl get motivated to do things around the house especially with a terrible two on your hands.

Sounds like you could be low in iron, I ended up anemic with no.3.
I don't think I have ever felt so debilitatingly low on energy and motivation. I wanted to get up and clean and play etc, my body just felt so heavy and just getting up to go to the loo was an effort.
So definitely mention this to your gp or pre natal care team, keep in mind though - you're pregnant, you're allowed to take it easy so don't be too hard on yourself. Subsequent pregnacies tend to be more draining than first ones anyway!

Please go and get some blood work done, I felt just like this when I was pregnant with my first, I put it down to being lazy and pregnancy tired. I got blood work done just after I had her and found out that the pregnancy had trigger post partum thyroiditis which then turned into hashimotos (an autoimmune disease)

This is exactly what happened to me! Def go to the GP it’s a simple blood test. Def rule a medical reason out before your labeling yourself lazy! Pregnancy second time around is much harder when your chasing your first too

Welcome to motherhood of 2! The guilt and time pressure is real and will get worse with a baby and it goes on for years.
Lower your expectations, give yourself a break, and also - you are pregnant!!! Relax all you can while you can!

Because it’s the same shit diff day for us mums, it becomes so depressing at times. I am the same. I am so unmotivated and have just gone on medication to help me. I’m also moving states and having a change. There is only so much house work you can do, it becomes lonely and it’s easy to get depressed and unmotivated. You may need blood test to rule out other things as you are pregnant, so get that done ASAP. You could have some depression, it does happen in pregnancy without realising. What ever it is rule out one thing at a time but start with a blood test and if all is fine, you maybe be depressed. I’d say you would have already had your bloods checked being pregnant. Go speak to your GP.
