Sleep issues

I’m having serious sleep issues, I struggle to get to sleep and then stay asleep. And once I wake up during the night I can’t get back to sleep :(
I went to the doctor and she said I have a kidney infection so was treated for that but still have sleeping issues.

Does anyone have any tricks to help me sleep? I’m going nuts I’m so tired

Google sleep hygiene and do all the tricks. Outside for sunset to trigger the sleep chemicals in your body. One hour of relaxing activity, a warm drink, dim lights, screens off (the light triggers our body to make the wake up hormone and send the signals to wake up, so its important) then bedtime at a good time. All screens out of bedroom and all activities out of bedroom so the only thing you do there is sleep. Make it fresh and comfortable.
My doctor told me to do all of this and if it doesn't doesn't, to also take a sleeping tablet for a few nights to help start the new pattern - but you need to do a bedtime routine as well.

I took melatonin for a month when I was desperate and it helped a little but I don't want to rely on a tablet for a basic function like sleeping unless necessary. No caffeine after 1pm. No screens before bed. If we're watching telly I'll read my book for half an hour after. Then I have a quick shower with a lavender shower gel, put a dab of lavender oil on each temple and I have a crystal stuffed in my pillowcase (just in case lol). Temperature is important. I sleep best at 24-27°c and I can't sleep if there's a light on. Even the "on" light of a wax scent diffuser or an alarm clock. All are banned in the bedroom. If I can't get to sleep I get up and read a little longer. I hope some of these might help.

Go to a reputable naturopath. Magnesium is great to get off to sleep for melatonin rise and Withania great for sleep maintenance.

Yes..!!! I am the same, every night then the mornings, I am totally exhausted. It’s so draining. My dr suggested I go to the chemist and get phenergan tablets 25mg instead of sleeping pills as they are additive. I take one around 6pm 2-3 nights a week max and it’s the only nights I sleep through the night. Without these I don’t know what I would do. There is also other over the counter ones called restavit or you could try the vitamin valerian it may help with sleep.phenergan is best for me and it’s also a antihistamine so if you have any allergies/ hayfever it’s a bonus. give it a try but always follow the chemists advice and check with your dr to make sure it’s ok for you.
