Don’t do it, absolute shithole and crime rates are only going up! If you’re from the eastern states I would not be surprised if you feel out of step in north qld, they’re very strange up there....
I’m from Vic, moved up to Cairns 13 years ago, the strange becomes endearing lol and then you stop seeing it at all, maybe you become one! Your comment made me laugh, but it is true, crime is getting ridiculous up here, but in Victoria they have the gangs and shit happening. I would suggest the OP take an extended holiday up here and decide for herself, many people move back but some of us do stay 😂😂😂 High unemployment is also a big concern, I would want a job lined up.
I'm glad I'm very strange then. Lived in Cairns 20+ years. Moved from down south and never regretted it. Raised a family and they all love their childhoods. We travel regularly and always love coming home. Life is what you make it. And ours is great, in a good part because of our community. Come on up!
Hahaha! It is like a bit of a timewarp up there. We spend about a month or so a year up there already, so are well aware. Also live in a very good suburb in Melb but the crime here is ridiculous so I don't think a postcode will matter with that, unfortunately.
As a Victorian who now lives in Qld, anywhere on the coast of qld is better than Victoria. I wont even visit family in Victoria it’s become such a shithole.
