Pain relief for single mum

Pain relief for single mum

Hey IMS, this is kinda a weird question. But here goes.

I have been in pain with a wisdom tooth impacting another tooth to the point of its gone sideways under the gum :(.. I am a single mum of 1 energetic 18 month old so I really don't have anyone to rely on with her. My question is what pain killers can I take to ease the pain that won't effect my ability or care for my daughter. I will have to get surgery to remove both teeth but I'm scared to get it done because I don't know how I will go with looking after my daughter but I'm in so much pain! And I have tried nironed panadol ect nothing even comes close to almost touching the pain.

Go to your GP they would be best placed to give advice on this, otherwise the chemist

Mersyndol is a great pain relief for teeth, or see your GP for prescription painkillers for the short-term but you will need to go and get it out. It's only going to get worse. Long-term reliance on painkillers is not good, especially when it's something fixable. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out under GA. It was pretty straight forward.

Head to your doctor.

You will need someone to care for your daughter for surgery because you won't feel goregous for almost a week.

Yes go talk to gp or even the chemist. I think the over the counter pain meds you get from the chemist are less strong and so I think they don't make you so sleep. Everyone reacts differently to pain meds too. Are you the type to become drowsy? Even nurofen makes me drowsy lol so if I have stronger meds they make me fall asleep but I have help with kids when this is the case. I would defiantly look into getting them out and getting yourself some pain meds! Don't feel bad about it! Yes they can be addictive but I found the pain to be extremely bad and can't imagine recovering for a week or two without anything ): I'm sure people do it but it's pretty tough. A lot of mums and dads are on pain killers and I don't think it always has to impact your parenting skills especially if it's short term. Just make sure you're not driving or watching them in the pool. Stay inside and put some movies on :)

Is there a possibility if putting your 18month old into daycare for the day so you can go to the dentist?? Having rotting teeth etc can be very bad in the long run

I put getting mine out for same reason and ended up having to go to emergency late at night for an injection to stop the pain. Then found a decent dentist that said I don't need surgery and he just took them out one by one in the chair (needed all 4 out). Was a simple extraction only cost about $100 and didn't even need painkillers! Get a second opinion on the surgery as the pain of living with them is crazy and you'll be much better off with them out and so easy and cheap in the chair
