My question is a quick one. I just wanted to know if anyone has an Aboriginal child/ren in childcare? I have heard from numerous people that you are eligible for for further help with the cost of childcare for Aboriginal children.
My daughter is Aboriginal and I spoke to centrelink who said she knew nothing about it? Was this lady misinformed? Where can I find out. My little girl is 2 and I can't afford to put her into care even though she had loved it previously and it frees up a day for me to catch up on housework etc.
I'm now pregnant with number 2 and it would be great to have that extra day.

Ring centrelink again just to confirm sometimes if you speak to a different person tou get a different answer but A lot of people get there wires cross when it comes to the so called 'extra financial' assistance they think kids of aboriginal descent receive! Otherwise have a thorough look at the website as basically everything is on there.
My daughter is not aboriginal but for 3 days a week I pay $65.37 cents with all the rebates that are available which is even less than the cost of a full day. I am a single mum on the pension.
