gestational diabetes

Has anyone had gestational diabetes? I had an ultrasound today for my placenta previa to check if it had moved (hasn't moved will need a c-section at 37-38 weeks) baby is measuring 35 weeks (im 32 weeks) and is already 2.2 kilo's and in the 90th percentile, I only weigh 57 kilos and am a very small person. My first baby was 2.8 kilo's when born so im kind of concerned that i may have gestational diabetes (haven't had the test due to timing with hospital appointments, work, shared care, a 3 yr old at home 24/7 and no license) I have tried booking in a test but earliest I can get in is at 35-36 weeks... Is it important to get it done even if its 2 weeks before c-section? Or should i continue doing what im doing eating healthy and keeping active seeing as im having a c-section anyway and the baby is healthy as a horse with no concerns at all other than being a little bigger than my first?

GD doesn't always equal bigger babies, nor does bigger babies always equal GD. How regular have your ultrasounds been? One-off US aren't great at predicting a baby's size. Only with regular, repeated US can you start to establish a pattern of growth and make educated estimates of size.

Bigger/smaller babies can also be a product of placenta function. Second babies are often (not always but often) bigger than the first.

Get the test done anyway - if you do have GD it will be handy to know when bub is born; they will watch baby's blood sugar etc when s/he's born.

I also had a gestational diabetes. I had to take insulin every day and my doctor gave mi this list of food https://healthiack.com/health/glycemic-index-chart and told me to stick to ingredients with low glycemic index. Everything turned out fine at the end.
