Fussy breast feeder

Fussy breast feeder

I'm currently breast feeding my 4 month old however she is becoming quite fussy, mainly on the right side. She sucks a few sucks then comes off, the searches for the breast again. It's frustrating because most feeds im having to latch and re latch her numerous times! I don't know why she does this. If I change sides she seems to feed fine. Don't know if it's a supply problem, let down is too fast/not fast enough or she is uncomfortable. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Sounds pretty normal, could the flow is too fast on that one side or it could be that's she's not getting enough quick enough. Really hard to tell. Just persevere, it could also be teething or gas pains.

Hold her head firmly at the breast so she's got less chance of coming off.

I found my youngest to be fussy when I was to busy checking my phone etc, once I just focused on feeding her she fed much better.

Most babies have a preference for one side to the other (sometimes the letdown will be a bit slower and it can be frustrating for them). Try and encourage her to feed from both but it is also normal for your breasts to adjust over time so if she feeds more from one side that side will adapt to make more milk.
