Career after babies/getting too old

Does anyone have experience in becoming a teacher, more looking at specialising
I would love to specialise in teaching history but at 25 with 3 kids I worry im getting to old to do it
Any advice, personal experience in doing something similar and would love to hear from history teachers!!

Too old? Lol people are changing careers many times over these days and well into their 40s and 50s. Even if you studied part time and started teaching in your mid 30s you would be no where near too old!

You aren't too old and if you're passionate about it then go for it- just be aware that depending on your location, there may not be many/any jobs available. There is not a major need for history teachers as opposed to Maths teachers for instance and if you are living in melbourne or a capital city you may struggle to find a position and may have to settle for relief teaching which is rewarding in its own way but unlikely that you would be teaching history as you would simply be filling in where needed. I would suggest looking on the education page of your state government and seeing if history teachers are in demand/surplus and maybe speak to schools in your area.
