Liposuction

Hi mummies
I’m starting to think about getting liposuction done. I’m just looking for women who have had it done what your experience was like and if you’d recommend it. Also recommendations for a surgen around Sydney
Thanks!

What about a sleeve gastrectomy? Lower risk and more permanent

I’m going to follow this. I have no want to not be able to eat a full meal for the rest of my life. Once I’m done having kids I’m getting liposuction and a tummy tuck.

I have 5 friends ones had the gastric bypass and has lost nearly 2/3 of her starting weight and looks so unhealthy and has had a multitude of problems ie hair loss, mental disorders, has become extremely needy and has become such an attention seeker I have had to unfollow her as I hate seeing her posts and excessive amount of selfies she posts, the 4 that had the sleeves 2 of them looks great still have lovely curves and are able to eat an average sized meal and 2 that have gotten so thin and are suffering from nutritional issues (ie not being able to get enough vitamins and nutrients and are suffering from gastric problems caused by their sleeves) that it has completely put me off of the idea and I don’t want to end up like them. One of them is starving over a year from when she had surgery she’s almost in tears when she watches us eating a chocolate bar or even some cheese and crackers because her body rejects her most favourite foods and it goes straight through her so she has to run to the toilet all the time she’s even shat herself multiple times. I also know that this is not how every one will react but when 3/5 are so unhappy after surgery I’m totally up for the more invasive help surgery that isn’t going to turn me into a bitter twisted sad sack. I love my food way too much to harm myself in such a way. I’m only obese not extremely obese and just want to get rid of my apron and the extra love in my love handles.

I had surgery and it was awesome. And I eat a full meal, just a smaller one. Honestly, the only person who knows is my hubby because the weight loss was slow and steady for me anyway... Not drastic.

My friend went from 140kg to just over 50 in a couple of years. Her hairs fallen out, she can’t eat any more than a few mouth fulls without getting full. Her mental health has gone hay wire, her body has flared up with an auto immune disease that had never been picked up in life previously to surgery, she’s in constant pain, she’s always looking for constant reassurance that she looks hot, that the weight loss surgery was worth it. I’ve been contemplating the surgery since she had it done. Watching her progress was fantastic seeing her now is awful. She looks undernourished and always tired and that energy she was looking for from loosing the weight isn’t there she can barely move half the time. I love her dearly and I know her story may not be my story but I am so not willing to let it be my story. I’m glad you have had a happy ending but seeing my friend has totally freaked me out and away from it. I think knowing all the risks and seeing this happen would put any one off having it done honestly. Which surgery did you have? The bypass, sleeve or mini sleeve?

Different poster. Allied health practitioner. Your friend's circumstances are not the norm and she should return to her surgeon. Have worked with hundreds of people for many years post all procedures.
