Newborn upfront and newborn supplement

Newborn upfront and newborn supplement

Hey there.
I was hoping that someone who recently has had a baby can explain the difference between the Newborn upfront and newborn supplement.
I have read the information online. Maybe it's my preggers mind but I feel silly, I'm not understanding it.
I have tried to call but unfortunately I'm not able to get through. I will be going in to speak to someone but unable to until next week.
Thank you. Any insight will be much appreciated.

It all depends on your current income and what you're going to be eligible for.

I was eligible for maternity leave but wasn't given any upfront payments. If you're eligible for Family Tax Benefit part A you'll get the upfront, I think if you're eligible for part B you get the supplement.

The Upfront is $540 which is paid directly to you, or the Supplement is $1600 thereabouts but does differ depending how many kids you have. I know a friend gets $30 a week for it for 13 weeks (one child).

It's all about eligibility as to what you will receive.

Sorry but we won't be able to help you with this as everyone's is different since it depends on your income, how many kids you have etc. You'll just have to see Centrelink.
