School toilets

Is there usually rules at school or a law agaisnt parents relieving themselves in the school toilets? My son was changing and going to the toilet when a man went in to use the urinal. My concern is that any stranger could walk in off the street and no one would know if they're a parent or not and I honestly don't think parents should be in there anyway unless it's an emergency with their child. There are other toilets at the school parents can use. Does anyones school have a rule?

yes he should have told the teacher a man was in there with him, that's not safe at all.

I know my kids school has a strict policy about this, parents/guardians are absolutely not allowed to use the students toilets but are welcome to use the staff facilities which are near the office. There are reminders in the newsletter about this regularly.
I'd mention this to the principal, I'm sure it wasn't sinister but inappropriate none the less.
Also, I'm assuming this happened after school seeing as he was changing clothes? If this happened during school hours, I would definitely report this and bring up your safety concerns because there should be a teacher supervising the general toilet area during breaks at least.

The parent may not have known this rule. Maybe just have a talk with the principal and they could make an announcement or put signs up on the student toilets that parents need to use the other toilets.

I have no idea whether there are rules about this at my child's school. If there are rules, I'm guessing the dad didn't know.

In my daughter's school there is no toilets provided for parents so we have no choice but to use the kids ones!. during class times they are paired if needing to go but other than that yeah not much safety when it comes to the loo situation I'll happily sign a petition if you would like to push a change 😊x

I would be bringing it up with the teacher or principal. Chances are it was just a Dad that needed a wee but it's always better to be safe than sorry. I would only use the kids toilet in emergencies and never a urinal. Parents especially with younger children will have no choice but to use the student toilets if there's not another option provided. I come from work and can sometimes wait half an hour the kids toilets or a tree are my only options.

No rule at our school but I use the staff toilets when there is a school event unless I'm helping my youngest (3yr old) then I encourage her to use the students amenities as that's what she'll have to do soon enough anyway.

I would mention it to the administration staff what happened and maybe suggest they promote the use of the staff toilets for parents and visitors.
