I’ll Marry that girl!

As we sit remembering you, Grandad shares the moment he set his eyes on you, he was sitting on the sidelines at a ballroom watching you, you were dancing so beautifully, so gracefully – you took his breath away.

Grandad leaned over close to his mates ear and says “I’ll marry that girl” his mate gave him a quizzical look and says ‘how do you know that? You don’t even know her”

He paused just for a moment than said “ I just know”

Well he did, he did marry that girl!

That girl, so beautiful and young. That girl who went onto have 2 beautiful children, one being our Mum.

Now we, your grandchildren have these specials memories of you.

You held our hands tightly.

You held them when we were afraid.

You hugged us when we did a good job.

You taught us how to cook.

You would lovingly read us bedtime books.

You wiped away our tears.

You patted our cheeks. 

You made us soup when we were sick.

You opened your cookie jar.

You made us cups of tea.

You patted our foreheads when we couldn’t sleep.

You held our babies and have watched them grow.

We cannot see you, although we can feel your presence near.

We will hold you close in memory until we drop every last tear.
